27 April 2013: little-known paths to Gilmerton

You’d think you would quickly bore of cyling in Edinburgh. It is fairly small and, surely, you’d just end up repeating the same trips.

Oh no! would be my response. Our trip out to Gilmerton took in paths you’d ordinarily never find let alone use, derelict mansions, wild parkland, the back of the new ERI … And all within the bypass and in less than 13 miles.

A very interesting run indeed, led by the redoubtable Jim, and including a good lunch stop at a pub the name of which I’ve forgotten. But it was good!
